Cameron plans personal population growth

CONSERVATIVE leader David Cameron has hinted he plans to have another child, just months after the death of his eldest son, Ivan.

Answering a question on population growth from a member of the audience at the Woodstock Literary Festival, he said: "I don't believe Britain is over- populated. I don't have any plans to reduce it. I would quite like to add to it, personally."

Mr Cameron continued by saying there should be a debate about immigration and population growth in Britain, but did not say when he planned to add to his own family. Ivan, six who had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, died in February after a lifetime of health complications.

Mr Cameron has two other children with wife Samantha – Nancy, five, and Arthur, three.

When audience members were asked for their questions, one wanted to know whom Mr Cameron would prefer to face at Prime Minister's Questions – Tony Blair or Gordon Brown.

He caused laughter by saying: "The quality of the jokes was better with Blair."

He added: "People go along to Prime Minister's Questions like they used to go to the Roman Forum; they want to see the Christians thrown to the lions."
