Call to reveal PO closures

ROYAL Mail bosses were today urged to end the uncertainty over the future of Edinburgh post offices by publishing their list of proposed branch closures.

Details of which post offices are earmarked to shut as part of a UK-wide programme of cuts are scheduled to be published for consultation in August.

But Kevin Lang, Liberal Democrat candidate in Edinburgh North & Leith, said many people would be on holiday at that time.

He said: "This will deprive residents of the chance to feed in their views and would call into question the fairness of the consultation."
