Call rate high for helpdesk

A HELPDESK supporting the IT network of NHS Lothian is now fielding 10,000 calls a month, it has emerged.

The facility said it was now looking at bringing on extra support workers at key times after they identified peak times for calls relating to technology problems.

Iain Robertson, head of eHealth operations and infrastructure for the health board, said: "We're answering about 10,000 calls a month. We've identified peak times when we may need to add more operators to the service."
