Call of duty

Have your say

The Scottish Government’s proposal to introduce legislation requiring that every child should have a state guardian (your report, 4 November) must rank as its craziest notion yet, and that’s saying something.

The child has parents. It is their legal and rightful duty to care for their children. It is not for the state to interfere in this responsibility. We also have a proposal before the parliament to redefine marriage.

Is there anything more the government can do to undermine the basic fabric of our society?
