Call goes out for extras in Bobby film
A JOBCENTRE was today set to hold interviews for extras to play a part in the new period drama, The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby.
There are more than 100 jobs available for budding actors on location in Edinburgh, Stirling and the Scottish Borders. No previous acting experience is necessary and the jobs are open to anyone over the age of 16.
The decision to recruit extras with the Jobcentre was made by director John Henderson. He said that he "wanted to be certain that all the work here went to local people".
Successful applicants will work alongside actors such as Christopher Lee.
Production has just started on the film with filming taking place until mid January. Extras however will not be needed for all of this time.
Interviews were taking place today in the Jobcentre in South St Andrew Street until 6pm.
Applicants who are unable to turn up today can call the Jobcentre to arrange another interview date.
