Businesses in health debate
BUSINESS leaders and politicians have come together in the city to discuss how enterprise can address health inequalities.
The Fit for Purpose event included a lengthy debate on the role of trade in the country's wellbeing, as well as organisations working in often deprived communities.
Key speakers at the event included public health minister Shona Robison and Steve Bell, the strategic director of the Scottish Centre Healthy Working Lives.
Companies were also urged to consider that a healthier population would lead to a healthier workforce, which could only be of benefit to Scottish businesses.
Mr Bell said: "Health is hugely important to helping people get ready for work."
