Business duo bring festive joy to Sick Kids

POORLY youngsters at the Sick Kids hospital enjoyed some Christmas cheer when online Dragons' Den star Shaf Rasul and businessman Duncan Sutherland dropped in to deliver more than £2000 worth of toys and gifts.

The Edinburgh-based pair, who run discount retailer BigOffers, visited the hospital to hand out gifts to the children, many of whom will spend Christmas in the hospital.

Mr Sutherland said: "The Sick Kids Friends Foundation is a cause close to the hearts of both Shaf and I.

"My own daughter was a patient after developing meningitis as a baby and ever since then I've been in awe of the incredible job the staff here do.

"Shaf and I both have kids and seeing how some of these children cope with complex and often life-threatening illnesses is a real inspiration.

"It was an absolute pleasure to bring some joy to the kids."
