Bullring bullies

Stephen McGinty seems to be missing the point about British matador Frank Evans (column, 12 September). Mr Evans isn't simply expressing an opinion in favour of bullfighting, he acts upon it.

By all means, let's have an open debate about bullfighting, but Mr McGinty is being misleading in implying that Peta are somehow the violent bullies.

The reality is that thousands of bulls have been put through a slow and violent death by the bullfighting industry for the sake of entertainment and profit. If that's not bullying, what is?

Nobody forced Mr Evans to become an animal abuser, he chose that path. He can't have believed there wouldn't be consequences, and no amount of "bleating" by Mr McGinty will change that.
