New Optos scanner gets green light

EYE-scanning machine maker Optos said yesterday it had received safety clearance from European regulators for its Daytona device.

The Dunfermline-based firm believes the device, which is smaller and more portable than its current equipment, is “the most important in its history”. Optos, whose shares nudged up 1p to 200.5p, said it remains on track to start selling the machine in the first quarter of next year.
