Britain's quirkiest shop names revealed
A SEARCH to find the most unusual or funny business names has uncovered an optician called Spex in the City, a chip shop called A Salt And Battery and a hairdresser named Curl Up And Dye.
Popular choices were Mr Chips for fish and chip shops and the Taj Mahal for Indian restaurants.
Business firm Thomson Local.com said it also found that the most popular name for a pub was the Red Lion, while predictable names for hairdressers were The Hair Shop, The Hair Studio or Reflections.
Mark Cox, from Thomson Local, said: "The UK's independent businesses have had a hard time in the last two years but, as we slowly come out of recession, it's the businesses with the most memorable, quirky names that will truly stand out."
