Britain's moral collapse
It is ironic that we need the Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, a devout Anglican born in Pakistan, to confirm the belief of many of us that not only is our society at moral meltdown by reason of the loss of the Christian faith and the malignant penetration of neo-Marxism and its alter ego, "political correctness", but also that radical Islam is seeking to fill the moral void (your report, 29 May).
Few of us who have lived through the decades since the Swinging Sixties can have failed, if we are honest, to have been aware of the deterioration in morale, morality and manners of the British people. The structure of the traditional family, respect for the law, love of our motherland and the associated virtues of order, duty, discipline and self-respect are in a state of collapse.
