A 51 year-old man has been arrested in connection with firearms offences after a bomb disposal team were called to a house in Brechin in Angus.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said today that the force was continuing to investigate the incident which followed the discovery of ammunition and “trophies of war” at a house in the the town’s Eastmill Brae on Wednesday.
He said: “Tayside police are currently investigating an incident in Brechin where a 51 year-old male has been arrested for unrelated firearms offences.
“EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) had been called to a house in Brechin on 31 January due to ammunition and trophies of war being discovered.
“The male has been released from police custody and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
“A report on the matter will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
