Brain injury site launched

A WEBSITE has been launched to improve access to information on brain injuries.

The National Managed Clinical Network said the resource would be helpful to patients, carers and professionals.

Health chiefs said thousands of people across the Lothians suffered head injuries every year, making brain injury the most common cause of disability in youngsters.

The website is available at www.sabin.scot.nhs.uk.

Dr Alan Carson, a consultant neuropsychiatrist with NHS Lothian, said: "Our aim is to provide a virtual hub to help co-ordinate the complex range of services and information that patients need.

"We hope that it will rapidly become the leading source of information on acquired brain injury for professionals, patients and carers."
