Bradley Wiggins and Paul Weller to host radio show

OLYMPIC cycling hero Bradley Wiggins has signed up as a BBC radio presenter alongside one of his musical heroes, Paul Weller.

The Tour de France winner has recorded a one-off show with the Modfather for BBC Radio 6, which will be broadcast over the Christmas period.

The pair were in in Salford yesterday to prepare the programme, which will feature classic tracks and chat.

Wiggins is being strongly tipped for the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year award after his groundbreaking Tour de France win and his track cycling gold during London 2012.

He is also lined up to present BBC2’s music quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Head of programmes for 6 Music, James Stirling, said: “It’s fantastic that two men who have excelled in their chosen fields can share their love of music on BBC Radio 6 Music.”
