Boy racers arrested in 'weekend madness'
POLICE yesterday condemned "boy racers" following a "weekend of madness".
Grampian Police officers detected 28 young drivers driving dangerously over the weekend, including drink driving and speeding – including one young motorist who was caught driving at 104mph.
Leslie Harrold, the force's road safety manager, said: "Luckily no-one was killed or injured in these incidents but they so easily could have been.
"Most of these young people will have spent a small fortune on going through driving lessons, passing their test, then buying and insuring their car.
"They then throw all that away by driving in a dangerous manner … Driving is a privilege that can be so easily lost."
