Ms Brown managed to get her younger child, a three-year-old girl, out of the building before going back in to try to save her two sons.
The three were pulled from the flat by firefighters, but Ms Brown later died in hospital.
Her sons, aged six and 12, are in a serious but stable condition at Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children. Her daughter is being cared for by relatives.
