Bosses put work before holiday break
TWO-THIRDS of Britain's business bosses fear exhaustion due to their heavy workload and are at risk of a summer burnout by not taking a proper break.
Of 1,000 business owners polled, one in seven (14 per cent) are not planning any holidays this summer, while 38 per cent plan to stay close to home. Of those planning a holiday, 29 per cent will cut it shorter.
Jonathan Elliott, managing director of Make It Cheaper, who conducted the research said: "Being horizontal on a sunlounger is the perfect opportunity for business owners to read up on the latest management books and dream up new ways of increasing profits while reducing overheads.
"This is important downtime and shouldn't be cut short because you are worried about the business.
"It's better to have a way of staying in touch so that if something major happens, you'll get to know about it."
