Bone scientist wins award
A SCIENTIST who has worked for 25 years to try to help sufferers of bone disease has been awarded a top research prize.
Professor Stuart Ralston, lead clinician for the osteoporosis service in NHS Lothian, was chosen for the Margaret McLellan award for his research.
The 2000 award is presented every two years by the medical charity Tenovus Scotland, in recognition of outstanding contributions to medical science. The scientist helped unravel the genetic contribution to bone disease.
