RESIDENTS in Midlothian are being warned to stay vigilant after bogus callers targeted two home in three hours.
In the first incident at around 11.20am on Monday in Gordon Avenue, Bonnyrigg, a man called at a property to offer gardening work. He gained entry to the house, and stole a handbag, which contained cash, bank cards and jewellery.
He is described as white, 6ft tall, aged in his late 30s to early 40s, medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded top, jeans, and white trainers.
The other incident happened around 2.15pm, at an address in Carlops Road, Penicuik, when the suspect offered to repair fencing in the back garden and lay water pipes.
