Police have found a body in an area on Skye where a St Andrews University lecturer disappeared nearly two months ago.
Dr Oliver Smith, 33, from Cupar, Fife, had been due to come back from the Bla Bheinn area of the Cuillins on 6 April.
But he failed to return to his holiday accommodation where he had been on a break with his family.
Yesterday, Police Scotland said the body of a man had been found in the area Dr Smith disappeared.
“Police Scotland can confirm that following a search, the body of a male was recovered from the area of Bla Bheinn during the afternoon of Sunday. The family of missing person Oliver Smith have been informed of this development. Arrangements are being made for a formal identification,” said a spokesman.
