Body found in Banff identified as Whitehills man

A BODY found in Banff has been identified as missing man Bruce Hepburn.

The 36-year-old disappeared from his Whitehills home nearly two weeks ago.

His body was discovered in a wooded area in the town on Sunday.

A police spokeswoman said officers were treating his death as unexplained.

She said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a body which was recovered in a wooded area near Castle Street, Banff, on Sunday, has been identified as missing 36-year-old Bruce Hepburn.

“Investigations into the circumstances are at an early stage and the death is being treated as unexplained until further enquiries are concluded.

“Mr Hepburn’s next of kin are aware of the circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
