Birthday 'flash mob' for Burns
THE work of Robert Burns got the flash mob treatment yesterday, when fans came together to mark his birthday with a spontaneous performance of one his most famous songs in the heart of Edinburgh.
Dozens of people, young and old, congregated outside the entrance of St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile just after 1pm to sing A Man's a Man for a' That, in celebration of Burns Day.
It was the brainchild of the Scottish Poetry Library, in conjunction with the Let's Get Lyrical campaign, which aims to get people reading, writing, creating and talking about song lyrics. Footage of the flash mob can be seen at Scotsman.com.
