Bird poisoning

Stuart Housden, (Opinion, 2 March), lays bare the ongoing illegal poisoning of birds of prey largely in the east of the country, where shooting interests predominate.

Sadly, despite years of soothing words from the shooting industry, this continues, with early indications suggesting 2009 is another record year for poisonings.

The Government must stand up for our wildlife and in particular our birds of prey, and say no to the shooting industry's narrow interests.
