SCOTLAND stars Tim Visser, Matt Scott and David Denton took time out of the tough Six Nations preparations to lend their support for the BIG dinner charity initiative.

Rugby players need nutrients to keep their strength and energy levels at a premium, so unsurprisingly all three are great lovers of food, and they were delighted to throw their weight behind such a just cause.

Through the BIG dinner, 500 Miles will look to raise £500,000 in a single night to help people with mobility difficulties in Malawi and Zambia to live independent lives.

500 miles helps them do this by providing artificial limbs and braces for people with disabilities of the limbs and spine.

The incentive struck a cord with Denton, in particular, as he spent part of his youth living in Zambia.

The Zimbabwean-born forward has a first hand understanding of how devastating the political upheaval can be in certain parts of Africa.

The BIG dinner takes place on March 7.
