Bid to reduce bowel tolls
POSTERS highlighting the importance of bowel screening are being sent to GP surgeries and pharmacists across the Lothians.
The campaign is aimed at men and women aged 50-74, in a follow-up to the programme which saw everyone in that age group sent a self-testing package to be sent for analysis. The scheme may have saved the lives of 19 people who had treatment on the back of the initiative.
Now local health chiefs hope the poster campaign will encourage even more people to be checked. The designs of the poster have been adapted to attract the traditional hard-to-reach groups.
