Best tune to get fit to
George, Sara and the Clyde 1 team have been putting in the training miles for the FreshnLo Great Scottish Run on Sunday. These songs have kept them going. 1-5 is George's pick and 6-10 Sara's.
BORN SLIPPY: UNDERWORLD:
A nice harmonic start to warm you up and then, when the beat kicks in, we are off and running.
BACK IN BLACK: AC/DC
A pumping tune from the off. Sometimes I find myself singing along out loud.
JUMPIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD: SCOOTER
If you've seen the video for this on You Tube you'll have given the dance a try and no doubt fallen on your backside in the process.
WALK THIS WAY: Run DMC
One of the best guitar licks of all time. A must-have in a runner's I-Pod.
NOTHING I WON'T DO: JX
An all-time classic dance track that oozes energy from the word go. Try playing this and running slowly; it can't be done.
GET READY FOR THIS: 2 UNLIMITED
I used to do an aerobic class and it always began with this tune, so I find this gets me in the right frame of mind for exercising.
TWO TRIBES: FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD
A powerful song, great for putting on the playlist when you know you need a bit of a boost.
ALL THESE THINGS: THE KILLERS
When I'm running on empty this is guaranteed to get me through.
RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW: FAT BOY SLIM
Every time a new track comes on, you need it to be one which comes cranking in and gives you another few minutes of inspiration to keep the pace up.
EYE OF THE TIGER: SURVIVOR
I may be only a tiny woman but when this tune comes on, I am Rocky. Just for the moment, I'm in my sweatsuit with someone on a bike beside me shouting, "C'mon Rocky … you can do it".
