Best five Summer holiday camps for kids
ACTIVATOR CAMPS: Boredom will be a distant memory for any five to 13-year-olds who take part in these popular camps. A mix of arts and crafts, bouncy castles and sporting activities from swimming to badminton as well as discos and quizzes.
DANCE FACTOR Dancing has moved on since Fred and Ginger, so why not let your talented youngsters practise their moves over the summer? This camp offers lots of styles, from cheerleading, street dance, hip hop and musical theatre. This one is for eight to 12-year-olds.
FOOTBALL Pass, shoot, score! For all those Wayne Rooneys or Ronaldos out there aged five-12, this is the camp for you. Courses run every week through the school holidays and SFA coaches promote all of the key skills such as dribbling, turning, passing, shooting, heading, tackling and goalkeeping.
GOLF No more divots out of your lawn or smashed windows for those who take part in Edinburgh Leisure's Golf School. Open to seven-17 year-olds, this will help get their golf in shape before they hit the fairways.
GYMNASTICS If your children keep vaulting over the couch and forward-rolling down the hallway, then it could be time to get them down to a holiday gymnastics programme. Catering for all levels and from five years upwards, children can develop movement skills and gymnastics techniques under the guidance of qualified instructors.
• All courses are run by Edinburgh Leisure, throughout the summer and October holidays.
