Bell rules out Blears election battle
MARTIN Bell, the former MP and BBC war correspondent, last night told campaigners in Salford, Greater Manchester, who want an independent candidate that it would be tough to unseat Labour MP Hazel Blears.
Mr Bell, who deposed Tory Neil Hamilton in 1997, confirmed he would not stand in the constiuency.
