Behind the scenes on TV history show
A LECTURE on the production of TV series A History of Scotland will be held in the Capital next week.
Organised by the Open University, the event will give audience members a rare insight into the reasons behind decisions to include certain important historical events and not others.
BBC executive producer Neil McDonald will use clips from the programmes to illustrate how the series was devised, while BBC producer Richard Downes, series historian Mark Jardine and Scottish historian Catriona Macdonald will debate the issues involved in presenting Scotland's history.
A History of Scotland returns to TV screens on Sunday.
The lecture and debate take place on 11 November at 6:30pm in The Hub on Castlehill.
