Bay City Roller told he would not see 2009

BAY City Rollers legend Les McKeown has told how doctors told him he would not see 2009 because of the toll drink and drugs had taken on his body.

Doctors told the 53-year-old Edinburgh singer he had just six months to live last June because his liver had tripled in size and his pancreas was failing.

The front man admitted he should have sought help for his alcohol and drug abuse years ago.

He said: "Drink and drugs caused me so many problems throughout my career and it's been responsible for so many break-ups and other things."

McKeown has turned his life around after being chosen for reality TV show, Rehab, to be broadcast this month on Living TV.
