Bakery takes biscuit with food fest slot
A SHORTBREAD maker from Edinburgh will be among 21 Scottish food producers exhibiting at this week's Real Food Festival in London.
Shortbread House of Edinburgh, based on Tennant Street, Leith, will have a stand on the Scottish pavilion, organised by Scotland Food & Drink.
The bakery is run by husband and wife team Anthony and Fiona Laing. Mr Laing comes from a family with a strong baking tradition. His father is Lord Laing who was chairman of United Biscuits until his retirement.
Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: "The Real Food Festival is a great opportunity for our industry to showcase itself in London, a key market for Scottish produce."
