THE public have been given their first look at Edinburgh Zoo’s latest addition - a baby red-bellied lemur.

Female lemur Gizmo gave birth to her first pup just under two weeks ago.

The baby has been revealed to the public for the first time, but has yet to be named.

Lemurs tend to live in groups called troops, which consist of an adult breeding pair and their young.

The troops are led by the female, in contrast with some other species.

Red-bellies are one of the few lemur subspecies that are territorial.
