Ayr Photographic Society wins Club of the Year award

A Scottish photography club has been honoured with a national award for a series of images.

These striking images of a green woodpecker, the aurora borealis and young children reading under the bedcovers are among the winning entries which saw Ayr Photographic Society scoop the Photography News Camera Club of the Year 2015-16 award.

The pictures by Eddie Telford, Mark McColl and Bill Ryder were among 20 submitted by the club.

More than 50 clubs from across the nation entered the competition.
