Award gets troupe in step
A MAJORETTES dance troupe has received a grant for more than £9,000 ahead of a major competition.
Sighthill-based Diamonique Twirlers, whose members are trained in baton twirling and pom pom, was awarded a grant of 9,399 from Lottery grants scheme, Awards for All.
The money will be used to buy new outfits, batons and pom poms and to pay for transport to the Great Britain Baton Twirling Association Championships in Yorkshire in October.
