Auction raises hospital funds
AN agricultural auctioneer whose brother is undergoing brain tumour treatment at the Western General has donated thousands of pounds to the hospital.
Ally Logan, a sheep and cattle auctioneer, arranged a special auction for his 50-year-old brother Kelso, who is currently being treated at the Edinburgh Centre for Neuro-oncology.
In total, 31,000 was raised.
NHS Lothian will put the cash towards buying an ultrasound wand for the department, which provides a more detailed image of the brain during surgery.
