Arty leukaemia girls net £600
TWO girls who spent their lengthy stays in hospital making arts and crafts to raise money for charity have managed to collect more than £600.
Shannon MacKenzie, 12, and Rachel Cameron, 13, struck up a friendship while they were both in the Sick Kids Hospital receiving treatment for leukaemia.
Even though both were undergoing punishing treatment, they set aside significant amounts of time to create products for the hospital's Summer Fair.
So far, 600 has been raised, but with more cash to be collected the girls are hopeful of hitting the 1,000 mark, with some of the money going to help the refurbishment of the oncology ward.
