Play the Glasgow heritage quiz
NOWHERE in Scotland can claim to have undergone as much change in the last century than Glasgow. From the green and rural, to the muscle behind the great Empire, the devastation of the Second World War, and finally to the large metropolis that it is today, Scotland's biggest city has experienced extreme successes and losses.
Heritage & Culture wishes to pay tribute to Glasgow and its greatness – the people and the place – with a bit of fun. We call it Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz, a week of challenging questions about the city's history and heritage.
The excitement begins on Monday. We will ask you five questions and supply a special e-mail address for you to send in your answers. Two people will be selected at random every day to win a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places from Breedon Books.
A total of ten copies of the book will be awarded over the five days of the competition. Please send only one reply per person per day, and only submissions to the special e-mail address will be valid. (No postal entries, please!)
