Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Two
WELCOME to Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz, the latest competition from scotsman.com's Heritage & Culture.
The rules are simple:
Answer all five questions from the quiz below and send them to this special e-mail address. (Sorry, but no postal entries will be accepted.)
During each day of the quiz, two people who have correctly answered the questions will be choosen at random to win a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places from Breedon Books. (Here's how to order a copy of the book.)
The winners will be announced next week in our Heritage & Culture newsletter (sign up to the newsletter here). Answers to the questions and the full list of winners will also be announced later next week on the website.
Enough with the blether ... it's time for the quiz.
DAY TWO
Question One: What is the name of the oldest building in Glasgow, built around 1471?
Question Two: What year did Glasgow host the Garden Festival?
Question Three: Name this factory in Glasgow Green that was built in the style of the Doge's Palace in Venice.
Question Four: What did women do in the steamie?
Question Five: In which square are the City Chambers found?
That completes Day Two of the quiz. Are the questions becoming more difficult?
Send your answers to this special e-mail address.
Only one entry per e-mail address per day. Please include the subject "Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Two" in your e-mail to differentiate which day of the competition you are playing.
The competition is open to everyone. Ten people will be awarded a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places.
