Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Three

IT'S TIME again to play Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz, the week-long competition from scotsman.com's Heritage & Culture.

In case you don't know the rules, here's what you do:

Correctly answer the five questions below, send them to this special e-mail address, and see if you have won. (Sorry, but no postal entries will be accepted.)

During each day of the quiz, two people who have correctly answered the questions will be choosen at random to receive a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places from Breedon Books. (Here's how to order a copy of the book.)

The winners will be announced next week in our Heritage & Culture newsletter (sign up to the newsletter here). Answers to the questions and the full list of winners will also be announced later next week on the website.

Got it? Let's play!

DAY THREE

Question One: What is Glasgow's underground system fondly known as?

Question Two: Name the tea rooms in Sauciehall Street and Buchanan Street visited for their Charles Rennie MacIntosh furniture and design.

Question Three: Glasgow is known for its boxers. Who is this winning one of his five world title fights?

Question Four: Name the famous sewing machines manufactured in Glasgow and exported worldwide.

Question Five: Who did Celtic defeat in the 1967 European Cup, becoming the first British team to win the trophy?

That completes today's quiz. Pencils down!

Again, send your answers to this special e-mail address.

Only one entry per e-mail address per day. Please include the subject "Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Three" in your e-mail to differentiate which day of the competition you are playing.

The competition is open to everyone. Ten people will be awarded a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places.

We're three-fifths of the way through this week's competition. You get another chance to test your knowledge of Glasgow tomorrow.
