Festival of student talent is big success

CROWDS of more than 4000 people attended a series of events designed to showcase student talent as part of the city’s largest student-led festival.

The Edinburgh Colleges Festival showcased the work of more than 1000 undergraduates in the areas of sport, music, performing arts, art and design, and hospitality arts.

All featured work had been created or performed by students from Edinburgh’s
Telford College, Jewel & Esk College and Stevenson College Edinburgh, ahead of their merger later this year.

Brian Lister, Interim Principal for Edinburgh College, said: “The festival has been a huge success, not only in terms of its size and scale, but the fact that it demonstrates the potential of the Edinburgh College for offering one of the best further education facilities.”

The festival programme presented 43 events over a six-week period.
