Army probes Iraq footage
Army police and a team of investigators are examining footage that appears to show British soldiers beating an Iraqi civilian.
The film shows men dressed in British army desert combat fatigues punching and kicking a man, who seems to be distressed.
A Sunday newspaper said it had received the footage from an "army source" who claimed it was filmed in 2003.
It apparently depicts a "revenge attack" following the killing of six Royal Military Police - or Red Caps - by a mob in Al Majar Al Kabir, Maysan province in June 2003. The newspaper said the alleged victim was thought to be a 'tout', paid to help find the Red Caps' killers.
