Army deserves Spam filter
Like Emma Cowing ("In Good Company", 7 February), I too have been watching Ross Kemp In Afghanistan and am equally humbled by the soldiers' stoicism. In the words of Michael Billig, "All societies that maintain armies maintain the belief that some things are more valuable than life itself." Surely if the British Government is willing to sacrifice the lives of its citizens for these values, it can do better than gratifying them with Spam.
