Arlene's family set to sue Dick

THE family of Arlene Fraser are set to pursue one of the men cleared of murdering her through the civil courts for subjecting them to "five years of hell".

Pig farmer Hector Dick walked free after making a deal with prosecutors which saw him turn Queen’s evidence against his former friend Nat Fraser.

His testimony helped convict Fraser of the brutal murder of Arlene.

But now her grieving family, including her father Hector McInnes, who lives in Bonnyrigg , said there is a possibility they will be taking legal action against the man they branded "the scum of the earth".

Mr McInnes, 62, said: "If there is the possibility of a civil action then we will have to talk it through."
