Animal rights group targets fur sellers
AN animal rights groups was to launch an anti-fur campaign in the Capital today.
Edinburgh the Fur-Free City (EFFC) is a new animal rights group targeting the fur trade.
The group has organised a number of activities, including a recent candlelight vigil outside the Scottish Parliament to mark International Animal Rights Day.
The group was due to stage demonstrations against Edinburgh shops selling fur throughout today.
The group says 50 million animals are killed worldwide each year for fashion, and argues that companies that sell fur are supporting a cruel, inhumane industry.
EFFC aims to work with shops and encourage them to adopt a fur-free policy or stock fake fur.
