An alert about Africa
LOTHIANS travellers have been warned about potentially fatal diseases in Africa.
Health Protection Scotland said holidaymakers had to ensure they were taking correct precautions.
Health chiefs expect a rise in diseases such as African trypanosomiasis, particularly with the increase in safari holidays. The bug can be transmitted by a tsetse fly bite, and tourists are being warned to wear skin repellent.
