All aboard for free Britannia visits for year
GENEROUS visitors to the Royal Yacht Britannia have been rewarded with free passes to the attraction for a year after agreeing to Gift Aid their admission fee.
More than 20,000 visitors to the Leith attraction have taken up the offer, which allows them to make unlimited return trips for 12 months.
The scheme was launched in April and offers UK residents the passes in return for a Gift Aid agreement on their ticket price - meaning that the attraction can claim back tax from the Inland Revenue.
Julia Stephenson, head of visitor experience at Britannia, said: "We are delighted with the success of the new Annual Pass Gift Aid scheme."
And she added: "We would encourage more Edinburgh residents to take up this unique offer."
