A LEADING city author is to headline celebrations in the Capital to mark World Book Night tomorrow.
Alexander McCall Smith will meet fans and read from his books at the Central Library.
Bafta-nominated novelist and playwright Lesley Glaister will also be there, along with other local authors.
As part of World Book Night, 20,000 volunteers across the planet will hand out copies of their favourite books to people who don’t read regularly.
McCall Smith, who wrote the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, said: “World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees tens of thousands of passionate volunteers gift specially chosen books in their communities to share their love of reading.”
