Pianist Ramsey Lewis turns 75 this year, and if ever proof were needed that it's never too late to do something new, he's it. This trio CD is his first album made up entirely of original compositions, many penned in 2007 for a ballet titled To Know Her ... (staged by the Joffrey Ballet Company) and from the 2008 Muses And Amusements suite for piano trio and string quartet. There are some lovely, graceful tracks here, so fans of Lewis's gentle pop-jazz will not be disappointed.
