Album review: Scissor Sisters - Night Work
*** Polydor2738110, £13.99
Lovingly cut from the same cloth as floor fillers from the 80s and 90s, the Sisters' music still yearns for something decade-defining all of their own.
The bouncy bass lines playing off the piano chords on Any Which Way sound a little too eager, and Something Like That struggles with musically clichd innuendo. Skin Tight, mixing it up to better effect, and the electro rumble of Sex And Violence are welcome breaks. Lose the cheese to get the real flava.
