Alabama massacre: Man drew up hit list before shooting ten people dead
A MAN who killed ten people and himself in an hour-long rampage in Alabama had been keeping a list of those "who done him wrong", United States authorities said yesterday.
Michael McClendon was armed with two military assault rifles, a handgun and a shotgun in the shooting spree, which started at a home in Kinston in south-eastern Alabama.
The 28-year-old gunman, who lived with his mother, fired more than 200 rounds.
McLendon killed his mother, grandmother, an uncle and two cousins, as well as the wife of a deputy sheriff and her 18-month-old daughter, who were visiting family members.
The woman's four-month-old baby was wounded along with five others.
Three others, including a motorist at a petrol station, were killed as McLendon drove through nearby Samson, apparently firing randomly.
"We found a list of people he worked with, people who had done him wrong," said the district attorney, Gary McAliley.
The list was made up of former employers, including bosses at a sausage plant where McClendon quit his job last week.
